Mais là où le show « fun et sexy » l’emporte, que reste-t-il de l’éthique du travail ?

My thesis in 180 seconds. When science becomes a spectacle

At a time of scientific controversies through tweets and Facebook messages, why a long-term sociological investigation dedicated to “My thesis in 180 seconds”? Three researchers answered affirmatively. This book, which results from four – unquiet – years of work, details the rapid installation of a competitive and playful device in the field of higher education that encourages doctoral students to question their relationship with the rules of the scientific profession. Thanks to the intense work of communication “tricks of the trade” deployed during training courses provided by all the academic institutions involved in the competition, the participants compete against one another in a tournament where scientific popularization regresses as the promising gesture, so common in the neoliberal organization, of project-based science takes hold. But where the “fun and sexy” show prevails, what remains of the work ethic?
