Michel Sot is Professor of History of the High Western Middle Ages: he began his career at the University of Paris X-Nanterre in 1970 and joined the University of Paris-Sorbonne in 2003. His work focuses on the writing of history during the High Middle Ages. In this seminar, he proposes to examine how a particular historiographical genre (the gesta episcoporum), of which there are some twenty examples, corresponded to a political, religious and cultural reorganization of the West, that of the Carolingian Empire. These Gesta reveal the modes of construction and justification of acts of good management in the bishoprics of the West.

The current health crisis is forcing us to reorganise a few things, and as a consequence the meeting initially planned with prof. Leixnering and Doralt has been postponed to October 20. With our thanks for your understanding!

Hoping to see you there,

The team of the Chair of Business Theory
