Research Seminar "Enterprise, Responsibility and Civilization
The Chair of Corporate Theory is pleased to invite you to the next session, after the summer break, of the "Corporate Responsibility and Civilization" seminar
"Business and human rights: from social responsibility to legal responsibility
With Kathia Martin-Chenut, Director of Research at the CNRS, Institute of Legal and Philosophical Sciences of the Sorbonne
"The rise of the "business and human rights" theme (and even of the "business and human rights" movement) at the beginning of the 21st century has led to a multiplication of international instruments within different normative spaces (UN, OECD, European Union, Council of Europe, etc.), and to a normative densification in the area of corporate social responsibility (CSR-O). What impact can this normative densification have on the legal responsibility of companies? Doesn't the tightening of CSR, resulting in particular from a strengthening of transparency and vigilance obligations on companies, contribute to the transformation of the value chain into a chain of responsibility?"
Kathia Martin-Chenut is Director of Research in Law at the CNRS, Institute of Legal and Philosophical Sciences of the Sorbonne, where she is co-director of the Center for Comparative Law and Internationalization of Law and the CSR-O AXIS of the ISJPS.
This conference will take place at Ecole des Mines but you can also follow it remotely. Please register to this email, click here to receive the connection link.
