The “Environmental Policies of the Digital” working group of the “Internet, AI and Society” research group is soliciting proposals for a study day on “Teaching the environmental impacts of the digital world”. The a study day will take place on May 31, 2023 and is intended for educators and researchers in digital sciences and humanities working with a variety of students (engineering education, media studies, computer science, humanities).
The objective of the event is to share knowledge, questions and experiences on the teaching of the environmental consequences of digital technology, whether by digital science teachers or humanities and social sciences teachers. The discussions will focus on the contents, interdisciplinary issues and epistemological difficulties as well as on pedagogical experiences related to this subject.
Participants who are interested are invited to submit a presentation proposal by sending the organizers a document (no longer than one page) describing the teaching experience to be presented, the specific issues the speaker wishes to discuss with participants, and possibly providing links to existing educational content.
The deadline for submission of proposals is April 10, 2023.
Free and open upon registration, the study day will take place at the Centre Internet et Société, 59-61 Rue Pouchet, Paris 17e.
