Two radically different views of the factory... and yet. A short comparative history of L'établi and Michelin, matricule F276710
"You have to know the past to understand the present and build the future".
Jean-Michel Saussois, Professor Emeritus at ESCP, takes an original historical look at factory working conditions, as reported by two authors, "undercover" sociologist Robert Linhart and former production operator Jean-Michel Frixon.
More than forty years apart (1978, 2021), the plant is described in two autobiographical works, L'établi1 and Michelin, matricule F2767102 , imbued with a profound humanity.
The authors, Robert Linhart and Jean-Michel Frixon, start from two radically different points of view
yet there are many similarities between them. In the end, it is a recent work of fiction that unexpectedly brings the two authors together.
