“Le soin des choses” by Jérôme Denis and David Pontille (La Découverte) is the winner of the Prix du livre d’architecture 2023 awarded by the Académie d’Architecture.
Posted on 27 October 2023

The Académie d'Architecture has announced the winners of its architecture book, student jury architecture book and architecture book for young people awards. The winners will be honored on November 10 at an awards ceremony held at the Académie d'architecture.

The Prix du livre d'architecture 2023 has been awarded: to Jérôme Denis and David Pontille for their book "Le soin des choses" (La Découverte). "Somewhere between narrative, research and alert, this book draws attention to the fragility of things, "things" in the generic sense of the term, beyond even architecture, the city, heritage or stone, but valid for all material production. The aim is to go beyond the obviousness of the object by highlighting its 'unruliness', a metaphor for its transformation through use and time, as well as through repair or restoration", says the jury.

By awarding the Prix du Livre d'Architecture every year since 1996, the Académie d'Architecture aims to promote all forms of architectural culture, whether scholarly, fictional, critical, sensitive or literary, or even committed to major architectural and urban issues. Its aim is to raise public awareness of architecture, urban planning and landscape, and of the social issues involved.

The Prix du Livre d'architecture 2023 will be awarded to Jérôme Denis and David Pontille on November 10 at 6pm at the  Académie d’architecture.
