The first Axis D meeting was an opportunity to discuss Franck Aggeri's book ‘L'Innovation, mais pour quoi faire? Essai sur un mythe économique, social et managérial’ (Le Seuil, 2023) and to consider the future of the axis. Franck began by presenting his book, followed by a series of comments from the two people in charge of the Axis, Alban Ouahab and Morgan Meyer. The discussion was then opened up to the room as a whole and to those present at Zoom - around fifteen people in all. In the second stage, the discussion focused on proposals and suggestions for animating the axis in the coming years. Among the ideas put forward were the following:
- an event on the theme of sobriety, potentially to be organised with i3's C axis
- a discussion on the different ‘worlds’ of innovation: Silicon Valley and transhumanist-style innovation versus the idea of ‘other’ innovation
- co-design and participation as sites of innovation
- the places and infrastructures of innovation: what territorialities, regions, spatialities? what networks?
Finally, those present agreed to organise a next meeting at the start of the 2024 academic year, with no pre-defined theme, so that the members of the axis could present their current work.
