Caroline Jobin, Sophie Hooge and Pascal Le Masson, winners of the “reviewers’ favorite” award at the ICED conference
Posted on 31 August 2021

The Interdisciplinary Institute of Innovation (i3) is very pleased to announce that three members of the Centre de Gestion Scientifique, Caroline Jobin, Sophie Hooge and Pascal Le Masson, have received the "reviewers' favorite" award at the ICED conference. The ICED conference is the bi-annual conference of the Design Society, the leading scholarly society in engineering design.

The award-winning paper, entitled "The Logics of Double Proof in Proof of Concept: a Design Theory-based Model of Experimentation in the Unknown", models the ability of proofs of concept (POC) to articulate in different ways (notably in combination) a process of "proof of the known" (e.g., empirical validation of design hypotheses formulated upstream) and of "proof of the unknown" (e.g., discovery, through the testing of the concept "in real life", of critical quantities for the continuation of the design process). This paper is based on cases of POC of service design realized by the design agency Sismo, a company where Caroline Jobin is doing her thesis in the framework of a industriel PhD.
